This is a great way to use pinto beans from food storage and they taste so much better. Due to the nature of this recipe all measurements are to taste. A fair warning, home cooked beans can take a few tries to get it just right. But it taste great with Mexican dishes!
Ingredients
water
pinto beans
chili powder
dried onions
beef base
cumin
salt (sea or kosher)
pepper
canola oil
Directions:
In a slow cooker add water and beans (4 or 5 to 1 ratio), chili powder and dried onions. Cook until beans are soft. Let cool, mash or blend beans until almost liquid consistency. In a large pot heat enough oil to cover bottom of the pot. When oil is heated add beans mixture. Add remaining ingredients to taste. Stir constantly to prevent burning until desired consistency it will need to boil down a little. Enjoy! This stores well in a freezer.
