On the Night You Were Born by Nancy Tillman

If you have children, you need to get this book. This is such a wonderful children's book!!! James and I read this together today and he loved it. He sat quietly in my lap the entire time, which never happens. The first time I read this book, it was right after he was born and I read it to him while he was sleeping in my arms. I couldn't finish it because I started crying!

The illustrations are wonderful and the text flows very well, which I think makes it a very soothing read for bedtime. Here is an excerpt from my favorite part:

"So whenever you doubt just how special you are and you wonder who loves you how much and how far. Just listen to geese honking high in the sky, they're singing a song to remember you by. And notice the bears asleep at the zoo, it's because they've been dancing all night for you. Or drift off to sleep to the sound of the wind, listen closely it's whispering your name again."

Gingerrose rating: 5 out of 5, it was amazing
